Default What is up with people these days?

So my friend from beta had a character he hasn't played in a while, so I asked if I could use it for storage, etc. He said, yeah, if you unlock it ( lol ) which is cool with me since I'm UAX.

Now I notice a few people on his friend's list, so I say 'hi' since I know a few of em. But then one person goes: who are you?

Me: Oh, a friend of one of your friends. Just wanted you to know he might be playing again.
Them: I don't know them.
Me: Weird, you are on their friends list.
Them: Maybe your friend is a creep who adds random people to their friends list, and he's a farmer who wants to sell shit.
Me: No... he's a cool guy, I know him in RL.
Them: RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you, don't contact me again you creep. I'm going to call A.Net that you are trying to sell me gold for RL money
Me: ?? Excuse me? Sorry, maybe he had the wrong person on his list... good day...
Them: RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you motherRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOer. HAHA! You can't reply now!
Me: Okay.. Good bye.
You are being ignored.
Them: LOL! Got you motherRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOer now go suck RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO.

What the hell is with people these days? Most people would like to figure things out if you are on their friends list, back in beta at least, but whats with this?

Miss .... Reject, sorry if I offended you..

Anyways, anyone else been treated like this? Why are people being so shitty in this game lately.

I think they call it immaturity. I got kicked from my guild cause I like having fun... and don't come running whenever the leader barks. There seems to be less of the "gaming spirit" around lately...

It's also called life. Not everyone is going to be nice to you...

Just ignore the person. It's just flat emotionless text.

My ignore list is blissfully empty, and I intend to keep it so.

Swear filter for the site.

That sounds like someone I knew and who was promptly added to my ignore list. Just wish that they would lengthen that ignore list... a sad truth.

I meant to really ignore the person... not put them on the ignore list.
BTW my list is empty too.

For topic purposes though, there are a couple of reasons people are like this.

People
- Are Greedy and Evil in nature
- Have the spirit of competition in the game making them more tense

Any others?

Its not gaming spirit that people lack its teamwork.

everyone at the moment seems to want to do their own thing regardless of what the team or guild is trying to do.

People seem to be getting very arrogant and selfish... even when our guild has enough players on to do something together noone is interested.

When you do finally convince people to come together they are critical and negative "oh this is crap.. omg we are doing terrible.."

Just come out of FoW with the guild.. they hardly had the motivation to do anything, standing around trading items with each other while others are dying!... and then they all say "lets do HoH!".. Im thinking, if you cant even do FoW properly and seriously what chance do you have of getting anywhere. so we try HoH anyway.. we die almost instantly and people just leave the team DURING the match.

Starting to get sick of it, roll on chapter 2.

People who don't realize when they are not in the right place to be doing something / have no idea what they are doing and won't take advice are even worse.

Kick one out of your party and...

http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/5430/spammer6fv.jpg --- contains offensive language!!

I was gunna report the kid, but was a bit too lazy.. I did save a .txt of when and where this happened >.<

Don't let me flame about religion!!!

It seems that they should try and get rid of people who swear to make their %^&$ look bigger or just to look like another... sorry...

Just talk to your guild friends and they'll understand better than most of the other players in the game. If all else fails, veto!

Well in keeping with this theme of what's up with people. Today I tried to do the Final Assault quest twice.

First time, a green drops for one guy outside of the furnace. Everyone in the party tells him to pick it up, but he doesn't. We keep playing for a while longer. Just after we kill Yaks, one guy goes back and picks up the green because it has now expired. We go in the furnace. Then everyone tells that guy to give the green to the person who it was originally meant for. He refuses to.

The party members then swear at the guy who took the drop for quite a while and tell him again to give it to the person it was assigned to.

Eventually he ends up selling the item to the guy who it was assigned to at market value. That guy who bought it is happy with the deal and says to everyone to stop worrying about it, but one healing monk is still swearing at the guy who sold it. They swear at each other for about 5 more minutes, then the healing monk with the problem says "I'm not healing a thief". We continue on into the Furnace getting a good ways in for the next 30 minutes or so. Then the guy who sold the green dies and gets ressed. The irate monk says: "who ressed him" and then the person who bought the item from him said "I did".

This made the irate monk get super duper irate, swearing at the guy who bought his own item and saying stuff like "you ressed a thief!"

We wait for the situation to cooldown a bit before moving on. Things appear to be ok. Then we get to two bosses side by side and a bunch of mobs with them. While we are in the middle of engaging them, one monk dies, followed by all the other party members except for the irate monk who backed away and suddenly stopped healing everyone without warning. This ended up in everyone leaving the map and going back to War Camp.

So I made a new party. Seemed like this one might be ok. We got into the furnace with no "green item incidents". No one was dying. We got all the way to the Ironman room. Then one guy says: "wanna kill two bosses close by". I said "sure why not, we'll kill the bosses first then finish the quest". All of a sudden one guy starts swearing at us out of the blue saying: "@#%#% farmers you ruin everything! Quests always turn into more farming for you greedy farmers!" After saying that, he quit! This was followed immediately by another quitter, and then 2 more after that. All in all, 4 out of 8 quit the party for no rational reason whatsoever! The rest of us 4 weren't equipped to finish the mission or kill the nearby bosses, so after trying for a while and dying a lot, 2 more quit and the party was done.

Both of these parties could have been successful, but due to idiocy of people, they were not.

I don't think mankind is ready for a "cooperative" RPG at this point in history.

Sorry man, but I agree with the monk in the first bit, I wouldnt have healed, but the problem with the other person rezzing him is that if you keep helping him play the game after doing something like that, he'll continue to act like that, because as far as he see's it, he can keep getting away with that kinda behaviour.

The guy who let himself get scammed like that, to the point of paying for his own drop, and even helping the guy out......just seems kinda stupid to me, because it means the guy who scammed him isnt going to regret his behaviour.
